Green Alliance

Similar to our last post looking at the Climate Emergency Fund, Green Alliance is an independent think tank and charity focused on ambitious leadership for the environment. The overall aim of the charity is to enforce positive environmental action for the overall benefit of the UK population.

On their website, Green Alliance claim they have “been working with the most influential leaders in business, NGOs and politics to accelerate political action and create transformative policy for a green and prosperous UK.” Their current work is focused on achieving a low carbon future and preserving the natural environment. To tackle these problems Green Alliance conducts “in depth research and advocacy by our experts, often in partnership with other organisations and interests.”

So, why is this important? Well politics are the starting point for environmental action and the Green Alliance has shown great efforts in turning politicians attention to environmental problems. They were part of the coalition who helped move the environment from an ignored issue following the EU referendum to the centre of the Brexit debate. Furthermore, government policies regarding plastic pollution and electric vehicles follow the recommendations from Green Alliance.

The message we left on when evaluating the Climate Emergency Fund is similar to the recommendation we leave on here. If you want change to be inflicted at a large scale then we suggest you support Green Alliance.
