The Climate Emergency Fund provides financial support to individuals and organisations who show the intent of fighting the climate emergency our planet faces. On their website CEF claim they only place their support in “nonviolent, legal activities that reinforce the goal of constructively building public pressure and demanding urgent action from governments and corporations to address the climate emergency.”
As previously stated in evaluations of other causes we support at Eco Giant, we focus our attention to charities with evidence of successful work. CEF was established just last year, therefore judging them on previous achievements is not possible. However, in just a few months since being established the fund raised over $1 million and disbursed about $800,000 of it in 26 grants to groups it has vetted. Sadly, not everyone changes for nothing, often some financial incentive is required to motivate a change in behaviour. This is where CEF comes in, this organisation is raising money in order to fund vital projects to respond to the climate change emergency.
