The Natural Resources Defense Council is a United States-based 501 non-profit international environmental advocacy group, with its headquarters in New York City.
The NRDC’s core mission is stated on their website: “We believe the world’s children should inherit a planet that will sustain them as it has sustained us. NRDC works to ensure the rights of all people to the air, the water and the wild, and to prevent special interests from undermining public interests.”
NRDC experts use data and science to unearth the root causes of the problems that confront us. They have combined the power of more than three million members and online activists with the expertise of some 700 scientists, lawyers, and policy advocates across the globe to ensure the rights of all people to the air, the water, and the wild.
“With dedicated staff working in more than a dozen program areas, we partner with businesses, elected leaders, and community groups on the biggest issues we face today.” It is important all of us work together towards the same goal.
