“Our vision is of a peaceful and sustainable world based on societies living in harmony with nature.” The Friends of the Earth’s vision is clear and directly correlates to their mission. Some of their main aims include ensuring environmental and social justice, reversing environmental degradation and inspiring others to change.
At Eco Giant, we have decided to place our support in the Friends of the Earth because not only do they strive for a better environment, but they also support various human rights campaigns. Our planet will never be saved if social injustice is still present. The fact this organisation aims to tackle both problems really makes them stand out amongst all the other non profit groups out there.
There is a vast array of examples of what the Friends of the Earth have already successfully done. To mention just a few, the organisation has raised awareness about human rights defenders, food sovereignty and economic justice.
As mentioned before, the Friends of the Earth do not just focus on environmental causes. In reality any cause relating to society has effects on the environment, as quoted by the organisation we must strive to accomplish the concept of “societies living in harmony with nature.”
